Our Method

We know that the final years in high school are already stressful enough for students and parents, so we have adopted a minimal impact approach that prioritizes school work, extracurricular engagement, and family. Yes, there is essential work that has to happen before the deadlines, but by having a thoughtful and methodical blueprint to the entire process, we can individually tailor your timeline to stay out of the way of big commitments and academic pinch-points. We’ve found that most stress is caused by misinformation and a lack of reliable data. Students and families need consistent and predictable access to dependable information. Whenever you have a question or an idea or quickly want to dispel a rumor about the next step, the personal support we offer is always accessible. When you sign on with Odyssey Admissions, you have access to a counselor whenever you need us.

We intentionally limit the number of students we work with in a given year to ensure your best interests are a top priority.

FRESHMAN & SOPHOMORE

Because universities evaluate a student based on their ENTIRE high school career, starting early is essential. Guidance on course selection, extracurricular activities, summer programs, and standardized testing strategy can make incremental and significant to the final application submitted during the senior year. That being said, high school shouldn’t be all about getting into university. It should also be about having fun and making the most of your time! The Freshman & Sophomore package focuses on gently advising throughout high school without becoming invasive or creating anxiety.

Beginning early ensures that a clear roadmap of the next four years allows students to explore and challenge themselves and, most importantly, grow. However, it also guarantees that students avoid the classic mistakes of poor course choices, flat and/or scattered extracurricular activities, and a general unintentional journey through some of the most formative and influential years. Making poor decisions is an important part of being a teenager. Why let those poor decisions determine the rest of their lives?

JUNIOR

Even though university applications are submitted during senior year, the vast majority of the groundwork is done during the junior year. Standardized testing, application essays, letters of recommendation, and generating a list of target schools should all be done by the end of the junior year. This timeline ensures that students avoid the panic of senior year, remain academically consistent, and have plenty of time to put forth their very best efforts into the application itself. Senior year is a turbulent time for everyone. Why leave the entire application process to the most stressful point in high school?

This is the most popular package we offer.

SENIOR

Sometimes leaving things to senior year is unavoidable. We get it. We can accomplish a lot in a little amount of time when we work together. Avoid the “senior slide” that can be detrimental to college options by working one-on-one with a professional who has literally been through the process a thousand of times. Together we focus on putting the pieces into an authentic narrative that will appeal to your target schools. We focus on deadlines and meet regularly throughout your 1st semester to catch up on the essentials.
